Kenny Black insists the Bantams must begin turning their words into actions on the pitch - ahead of tomorrow's trip to newly-promoted Barrow.
The Bantams are aiming to return to winning ways at the Progression Solicitors Stadium after consecutive losses.
While encouraged by the second-half performance at Bolton on Tuesday, City's assistant manager knows the Bantams must start picking up results.
He said: "We cannot keep saying the same things and need to start doing our talking on the pitch," Black said.
"We have a problem with consistency at the moment and it needs to be addressed.
"The obvious feeling from Tuesday was disappointment because, having looked back at the game, there were large parts we controlled.
"We had no cutting edge going forward and conceded a soft goal, so did not put ourselves in the best-possible position.
"There were errors at both ends of the field and we contributed to our own downfall and gave a side who had not won at home all season a bit of a leg up.
"Football constantly changes and we have really seen that over the past few weeks.
"We had a good performance against Mansfield followed by a poor one against Newport - and another good one in the second half on Tuesday where we still did not manage to get any points.
"The beauty is that the games come thick and fast so we have an opportunity to put bad results behind us quickly."
Black expects the Cumbrian outfit to be brimming with confidence, following their first victory of the season at Mansfield Town on Tuesday.
The Scot feels the Bantams learnt their lesson by lowering standards in their last outing against opposition new to Sky Bet League Two, and have to ensure it is not repeated.
He added: "Barrow are one of many dangerous opponents we will face in this division.
"They are coming off the back of their first victory on Tuesday, so it will be difficult.
"They have players who can hurt you, and we cannot underestimate them or fail to show them the respect they deserve, as we will have a similar result to the one we did against Harrogate Town.
"Teams who come up embrace the challenge and enjoy playing against sides like us, and the fact they are coming off the back of a victory makes them even more dangerous.
"We cannot afford to take them lightly, which we will not."
