TEAM NEWS

City: Stuart McCall will be hoping to have Bryce Hosannah available fore selection after the right-back was withdrawn at the halfway point of his side's midweek draw with Walsall, though admitted it is unlikely.

Reece Staunton will be available, however, after recovering from an ankle problem which has kept him out of the past two games.

Saturday comes too early though for Gareth Evans, Levi Sutton and Zeli Ismail, who remain sidelined.

Newport: Up to four former Bantams could take to the Utilita Energy Stadium turf on Saturday for the visitors, who are managed by ex-City star Michael Flynn.

Jamie Devitt, Jamie Proctor, Kevin Ellison and Matty Dolan are set to feature for the Exiles.

Newport's top-scoring striker, Tristan Abrahams, will also be hoping to continue his rich vein of form in West Yorkshire. He has seven goals so far this season.

WHAT THE MANAGERS SAID

Stuart McCall: “Newport have won five out of seven and are playing at the top of their game.

“Defensively, they are very secure and solid, so it is up to us to play on the front foot and break them down.

“We must be positive going forward. I have never gone into a game concentrating on how we can avoid losing, and Saturday will be no different, particularly at home."

LAST TIME OUT

City’s last meeting with Newport came shortly before the curtailment of the 2019/20 season, where - having taken the lead - Stuart McCall's side were beaten 2-1 at Rodney Parade.
