Stuart McCall was pleased with a “professional” City display - following his side’s 7-0 victory at Tonbridge Angels.
The Bantams progressed through to the second round of the Emirates FA Cup with a dominant, clinical performance at the Halcyon Wealth Longmead Stadium.
McCall was pleased with the intensity in which his side played at, and their attitude towards performing.
He said: “It was a professional performance, which was needed. We got off to another good start, as we did against Southend.
“There are going to be banana skins and cup upsets over the weekend and we had to make sure we were not going to be involved in one of them, which was what we thankfully did.
“The players were insistent in not taking their foot off the gas in the second half and were really ruthless, which was pleasing to see.
“There were a lot of good performances and, while it was a match we were fully expected to win, there has been a little bit of pressure over the last couple of games.
“We took a lot of our chances and even hit the woodwork a couple of times as well, so could have maybe had even more.”
With an aggregate scoreline of 10-0 over City's last two games, the Bantams boss has been satisfied with the response to three-straight defeats.
He was once again encouraged by the fast start his side made in Essex, which set them up for the remainder of the encounter.
McCall added: “It has been a good reaction, there is no doubt about that, but we have to make sure we keep backing it up now. We move straight onto the next game.
“The key was starting the game right, moving the ball well and playing with the right mentality, which we did.
“It was a terrific surface and the weather was perfect. There were no excuses for the players and we thankfully came through pretty-much unscathed.
“We started the game really well. We moved the ball and got into areas we wanted to play in. Our movement was good across the field."
