WOMEN FALL TO FEDS DEFEAT

9 March 2020

Bradford City Women proved unable to record back-to-back victories, falling to a 3-0 defeat at Liverpool Feds.

Having taken the lead in the first half from the penalty spot, the fourth-placed hosts added to their lead twice after the interval to leave with all three points.

After starting well, Feds were awarded a penalty a quarter of an hour in - when a high foot was penalised inside the City area, when defending a free-kick - which was converted.

With the wind behind them in the second half, Chris Hames’ side came back out on the offensive from the off, with substitute and eventual player of the match Charlotte Gill looking threatening on her debut.

City’s hosts were able to break the game up while soaking up pressure from their visitors, netting a further two goals on the break - against the run of play - to complete the scoring.

First, the home side bagged a well-taken strike from 20 yards out before making sure of the result with a fortuitous own-goal which deflected off a few City defenders.

CITY: Routledge; Sales, Sandford, Shepherd (Willoughby 67’), Woodcock (c); Prothero (Hawkins 65’), Norde, White (Gill 45’), Stuart; Stube, Sumaili.
