MIDDLETON DESPERATE TO PUT RUN TOGETHER

Glenn Middleton is desperate for he and his City team-mates to show a reaction when welcoming Leyton Orient to the Utilita Energy Stadium.

The Bantams entertain Orient on Saturday (3.00pm) - on the back of a disappointing 2-0 defeat at Salford City last time out.

The winger has spoken of the work gone in to right last week's wrongs and insists everyone is desperate for a more positive result.

He said: “Last week was not acceptable. It was far away from the standards we have as players and the levels required to play for this club.

“We have to be better and have been getting the message across, because we were unacceptable at Salford.

“There really are no excuses because, even if we do not play well, we know we are more than capable of putting a performance on and getting three points.

“Hopefully, we will take everything we have worked on in training this week on board and get the three points on Saturday.

“We know what we need to do now and it is up to us to start getting a run together. We are all desperate to win the game.”

A January transfer deadline-day loan signing from Rangers, Middleton admits he has found it easy to settle in - in West Yorkshire.

The 20-year-old is relishing the prospect of making his home debut for the Bantams, and is pleased at the rate he is learning and developing as a footballer.

Middleton added: “It has been really good and I have really enjoyed it so far.

“As soon as I signed, the new manager came in pretty much straight away and he has tried getting things across quickly.

“I think we are getting there and improving all the time and the fact games are coming thick and fast is only a positive.

“We have to go out there on Saturday and show we are getting better and are capable of meeting the demands.

“I am desperate to play football every weekend and cannot wait to make my home debut for the club, having experienced the atmosphere and things like that.

“I obviously need to keep my performance levels high, but I am young and learning and the experiences I have here will hopefully help me massively in the future.”
