REEVES: ‘BANTAMS MUST RIGHT CRAWLEY WRONGS’

Jake Reeves insists City must improve upon a below-par showing when hosting Scunthorpe United - on Saturday (3.00pm).

The Bantams’ eight-match unbeaten run came to an end last weekend when they were downed 2-1 at Crawley Town.

The midfielder is making no excuses for defeat against the Red Devils and knows he and his team-mates must be better against the Iron.

Reeves said: “I do not want to beat around the bush, we were not good enough at Crawley.

“As a team and as individuals, we were poor, which you cannot be in this league as you get punished - like we did.

“It is up to us to put it right this weekend, because we know we are better than that and we cannot afford to perform as we did again.

“It was frustrating because we had been playing well and were on an eight-game unbeaten run.

“It was a good learning curve at this stage of the season and, in our heads, was a one off.

“We have to bounce back on Saturday. For us, it is about regaining some consistency and getting back on track - in terms of where we were before the Crawley game.”

Now back fully fit after a long injury lay-off, Reeves has once again cemented his place as an integral member of Gary Bowyer’s squad.

The former AFC Wimbledon man is enjoying life back in the side and is excited for what the future holds.

The 26-year-old added: “I have loved every minute of being back, it has been great.

“Stepping back out on the pitch is what you look forward to - after being out for so long. To have played as many games as I have has been brilliant.

“Thankfully, I have had a good run in the side and am just happy to be back. I just feel normal again now, which is massive, for me.

“I do not feel like a player who is back in the side and back fit again, which makes it a lot easier in terms of personal momentum.”
