Match-winner Aramide Oteh was delighted to have began 2020 with three points - following a 1-0 victory over Morecambe.

The Bantams were made to battle hard for the win, eventually breaching the Shrimps’ back line with 10 minutes remaining.

Oteh was pleased with how he and his team-mates continued to fight until the end to record their second success in four days.

The Queens Park Rangers loanee said: “Getting the three points was a great feeling - everyone is happy.

“It was the best-possible way to start 2020 and was probably one of our best and most important wins of the season, in the circumstances.

“Morecambe came with a game plan and made it very hard for us. We were patient with what we were doing and believed in ourselves, to eventually get our rewards.

“Sometimes, the scrappy, battling 1-0 victories feel a bit sweeter than the 4-0 and 5-0 wins, especially when you are made to fight as much as we were.

“We kept another clean sheet and picked up another three points which was the main thing. We are all delighted.”

Oteh was also pleased to have scored the winning goal in the 80th minute - after coming off the substitutes bench - to take his tally in claret and amber up to four.

The 21-year-old was happy to have taken his chance - after a frustrating few weeks - and is now looking to kick on over the coming weeks and months.

“Scoring the winner felt really good,” the forward added.

“I feel I have been unlucky, recently, with a few chances being saved really well in the past few games, so was just really happy and thankful to see that one go in.

“There are a lot of games over this period and I felt, while I always try my hardest for the team, I have not necessarily been playing as well as I can.

“I was over the moon to take my chance, again, when coming off the bench - and score the winner in front of The Kop - to help the team get three points.”

The Bantams are back in action with a 3.00pm trip to Swindon Town on Saturday (January 4). CLICK HERE to purchase tickets.
