Clayton Donaldson was pleased with a spirited performance after making a goal-scoring return in a 1-1 draw against Cheltenham Town.
The striker made his first start since October for the Bantams - who were made to play the second half with 10 men following Jamie Devitt's dismissal.
The Bradford-born frontman believes he and his team-mates dug deep to secure a positive result, given the circumstances.
Donaldson stated: “The result was good, considering we went down to 10 men.
"I thought we might have been able to hold them out until the end, but were happy with a draw, overall.
“To play 45 minutes with 10 players and still grab a point shows we are a good side.
“When it got to 80 minutes in and Cheltenham scored, it was disappointing.
“However, if you look at the bigger picture, it could have ended up a lot worse.
"We got stuck in and hung in there, especially when they piled on the pressure.
“It is difficult when you are a man short, because the opposition had possession for most parts and created quite a few chances, which put pressure on us.
"But, we sustained Cheltenham really well and, if you take the performance against Mansfield in to consideration, this game was the total opposite.
“The togetherness and desire was there and it was a big team effort, which is all the coaches and supporters ask for.
“Sometimes, you need those games like Mansfield to make you realise we need to step up.
"I thought the Cheltenham game showed that and it has set us up nicely for the last 16 games of the season.”
The No.10 was delighted to have been back in the starting line-up, having only been in full training for less than a week.
He has promised to fight for the club and believes he will only improve towards the latter stages of the campaign.
The former Bolton Wanderers man added: “It was planned for me to do 15 minutes against Mansfield and then play against Cheltenham.
"No matter how long I play for and when, I will give it my all in this shirt.
“If I am blowing up, I will come off, but I am always one to fight for the cause and the team and I was glad to get another 60 minutes under my belt.
“I do not feel as sharp as I was before, but that will come with time and games.
"The games are coming thick and fast, so hopefully I can get them racked up and get back up to speed.”
