BANTAMS SECURE GUTHRIE SIGNATURE

31 January 2020

City have secured the services of striker Kurtis Guthrie.

Guthrie, 26, has signed on a permanent deal - for an undisclosed fee - from Stevenage.

The agreement will see him remain in West Yorkshire until at least the end of the 2020/21 season.

The 6ft 3ins frontman began his career in non-league football, before going on to represent Forest Green Rovers and Colchester United.

Guthrie, who boasts a record of more than 50 career goals, is delighted to have arrived at the Utilita Energy Stadium.

He said: “It is great to finally get the deal over the line and I am very excited to get going.

“With the incredible support and ambition of the football club, it was very difficult to turn down when the opportunity arose.

“I am really looking forward to getting underway, having some games under by belt and showing these fantastic supporters what I can do.”

City manager Gary Bowyer added: “We are delighted to have further strengthened our squad with the addition of Kurtis.

“He provides a real presence and natural goal-scoring ability up front - and adds great value to what we already have.

“He works extremely hard for the team and we look forward to seeing him score goals in claret and amber.”

The forward’s move is subject to the relevant FA and EFL clearances.
