UNDER-18s UP TO SECOND WITH LINCOLN WIN

11 February 2020

City’s under-18s side - which included six under-16s and one under-15 - bounced back to winning ways with a 3-2 home victory against Lincoln City.

A late Kian Scales winner secured all three points for the young Bantams, who moved up to second in the EFL Youth Alliance North East table, with three games in hand.

Charlie Wood opened up the scoring for Mark Trueman’s side early on in the first-half.

The attacker notched his 10th goal of the season after finding himself free at the back post before smashing home - giving City the early initiative.

As the second-half commenced, the Bantams soon made it two - courtesy of Olivier Sukiennicki.

Wood - already with one goal to his name - was on hand once more, cutting in from the right before setting up Olivier Sukiennicki.

The midfielder took aim and curled an unstoppable effort into the top corner from distance.

Despite there being daylight between the sides, the Imps soon struck twice in quick succession to pull it back to 2-2.

However, as the encounter continued into its dying stages, City snatched the winner - through Scales.

The No.8 - who has now scored 15 goals this season, from midfield - worked space in the middle of the penalty area before slotting in.

The away side quickly restarted but were unable to salvage anything, as Trueman’s men came away with all three points.
