Lee Novak is fully focused on the challenge Plymouth Argyle will present City with - ahead of their visit to the Utilita Energy Stadium on Saturday (3.00pm).

The striker insists defeats in the Bantams’ previous two games have been difficult to take - having broken the deadlock in both.

He is now, however, confident these are behind the side who are looking ahead to how they can cause their Devon visitors problems.

Novak said: “We were very disappointed, as a group, and have been through the last two games together.

“We have been sloppy in taking the lead and not being able to keep hold of it. There is only one way to make that better, which is with three points.

“We have to win at all costs and be determined to turn it around. It is a positive mood and still a healthy camp.

“The focus is away from what has happened now and is fully on Plymouth and what we can do to beat them.

“Our fate is in our own hands and it is up to us to turn things around, which must begin on Saturday.”

A January transfer deadline-day signing from Scunthorpe United, the 31-year-old has spoken well of how he has settled in - in West Yorkshire.

Novak praised the effect City’s supporters have had on his start to life in claret and amber, and hopes this can continue against the Pilgrims.

The former Birmingham City frontman added: “It has been good and I have enjoyed the start I have made.

“I have got a couple of goals and would like a few more, but it is important to be picking the wins up - when you look at the bigger picture.

“It is good to get off to a good start. The supporters have made it a lot easier.

“We get a great following and you saw that against Grimsby - where the atmosphere was incredible.

“Plymouth are quite a big, well-traveled club as well in terms of supporters so hopefully, if they bring quite a few down, the atmosphere should be another good one.”
