SELLARS READY FOR GRIMSBY CHALLENGE

21 December 2020

Conor Sellars insists the Bantams have prepared diligently for the challenge they expect to face at Blundell Park - ahead of tomorrow’s meeting with Grimsby Town (7.00pm).

The Bantams contest their game in hand against the Mariners on the back of a 1-0 victory over Cambridge United on Saturday.

And, despite being under no illusions of the challenges tomorrow’s hosts will provide, City’s caretaker assistant manager is confident he and his colleagues have prepared as much as possible for the affair.

Sellars said: “We were all working yesterday to make sure we had a clear plan for how we approach Grimsby, and how we can beat them.

“We have been monitoring them for the past few days and looking at how we can hurt them.

“This may be our biggest test yet, because of how aggressive and intense they are.

“We just have to make sure we are better than them on the night - to make sure we come away with the three points.

“We know we have quality in our side and are confident, if we are able to match them in terms of their fight and aggression, we will be able to put a performance in and come away with the three points.

“We have a lot of games coming up and must be prepared for them, which is hard, but we are doing the very best we can.”

Having taken four points from two matches since taking over on a temporary basis, Sellars insists the mood in the camp is one of positivity.

He is determined to see the Bantams continue to build as they enter a busy festive period, having been encouraged by what he has seen thus far.

Sellars added: “It is upbeat. Four points from two games has given the boys a real lift, and it is a pleasing atmosphere.

“We just have to keep moving forward and getting better, so we can improve upon our performances ahead of the games we have coming up.

“The players are really bought in to what we are trying to do as staff.

“We truly believe in passion and commitment and feel the players are certainly showing that, at the moment.”
