ONES TO WATCH
Former Bantam Vaughan started his career off at Everton and made history by becoming the youngest-ever Premier League goal-scorer after netting on his debut against Crystal Palace in 2005.
The Birmingham-born striker has represented 12 different clubs across his career, including spells at Huddersfield Town, Bury, Wigan Athletic and Bradford City. He is Tranmere’s top goal-scorer this season, having netted 12 in all competitions.
The 38-year old defender also started his career at Everton after coming through the ranks with the Toffees. He has made 781 career appearances and enjoyed notable spells at Blackpool, Southend United, Huddersfield Town and Oldham Athletic.
Clarke signed for the Whites at the start of the year but could not help the club avoid relegation last season.
Spearing has represented the red half of Merseyside and lifted the Carabao Cup with Liverpool in 2012 after beating Cardiff City on 3-2 penalties - in the final at Wembley Stadium.
The 32-year old midfielder has spent most of his career in Lancashire, representing Bolton Wanderers, Blackburn Rovers and Blackpool respectively. He penned a two-year deal with his hometown club Tranmere in the summer.
Scott Davies has been with Tranmere Rovers since 2015 and has racked up 243 appearances during his time at the club. The Blackpool-born goalkeeper has won two promotions with the Whites but experienced relegation last season.
Davies made his professional debut for Morecambe in 2005 and has since played for Fleetwood Town and Accrington Stanley. He was handed the captain's armband at the start of the 2019/20 season, following Stephen McNulty’s departure from the club.
Keith Hill made over 400 appearances as a player and represented the likes of Blackburn Rovers, Plymouth Argyle and Rochdale. He started his managerial career off at Rochdale in 2006, where he spent five seasons with the club.
He was then appointed manager of Barnsley in 2011 where he helped the club to survive relegation from the Sky Bet Championship by one place in the table. The 51-year old then returned to Rochdale for another six years before taking on the manager's job at Bolton Wanderers in 2019.
Hill joined Tranmere Rovers at the end of November and has won five of his first seven games in charge.
