ABOUT THE GROUND

The Sands Venue Stadium has been home to Scunthorpe United since its opening in August 1988.

With a construction cost of £2.5 million, it was the first new purpose-built EFL stadium in England for 33 years.

The 9,088-capacity venue compromises of three fully seated stands - the SBP Stand, Clugston Stand and AMS Stand (housing away supporters) - and the Britcoin Stand which is a standng terrace.

In the surrounding areas, there is limited street parking with police restrictions, while there are parking restrictions in the retail car parks.

ENTERTAINMENT AND REFRESHMENTS

To drink:

The Old Farmhouse pub is part of the Fayre & Square chain and is located a short walk from the ground.

This admits travelling suporters, providing they are not wearing their team colours.

Further along Doncaster Road is The Berkeley Hotel - usually more welcoming of visiting supporters - which also serves a selection of food and drink.

To eat:

With the Sands Venue Stadium located within a retail park, City fans are not short of options for a pre-match lunch.

Frankie & Benny's, Pizza Hut, McDonald's, KFC and The Old Farmhouse pub all serve food within the immediate vicinity of the ground.

GETTING THERE

By car:

Leave the M180 at junction 3 and take the M181 for Scunthorpe.

The motorway will reach its natural conclusion and you will come to a roundabout, where you take the third exit.

At the next roundabout, take the third exit again (travelling past KFC on your left and McDonald's on your right).

Continue forward at the next roundabout through the Sands Venue Stadium gates.

By train:

Scunthorpe railway station is over two miles away from the stadium, located towards the town centre.

The best way to get to the stadium from there is by taxi but, alternatively, you can walk or catch a bus from the bus station to either Tesco or Bolsover Road.

By bus:

Buses are available from Scunthorpe town centre. Visit www.stagecoachbus.com for information.

WEATHER

Supporters could be in for another wet afternoon when the Bantams make the trip to Lincolnshire.

Temperatures are expected to reach highs of 17°C, though there is a 20% chance of rain.
