Playing in the EFL Youth Alliance North West division, Rochdale Under-18s have endured a difficult start to the 2019/20 campaign.
Without a win in six, Dale currently sit 11th in the league, having won only two matches - in all competitions - this season.
By contrast, tonight's visitors enjoyed a successful 2018/19 campaign, only finishing runners-up in the league to eventual runaway leaders, Wigan Athletic.
