HENLEY LOOKING TO KEEP RUN GOING

18 October 2019

Adam Henley is desperate to keep building momentum in front of City’s home support - ahead of tomorrow's clash with Crawley Town.

Victory at the Utilita Energy Stadium will be City’s third on the bounce, with another home fixture - against Port Vale - to follow next Tuesday (October 22).

The full-back explained how Gary Bowyer’s men must use their 'fantastic' backing to their advantage, to take as many points from their home matches as possible.

Henley said: "Everyone is up for it. We are on a good run of unbeaten games and the whole camp is positive.

"These are important games coming up, at home, in front of our fantastic supporters.

"We need to take full advantage of being at home, especially coming into such a busy run of matches.

"Our aim is to win all our home matches, which is completely realistic and achievable with the amazing home backing we receive.

"The ground is a fantastic place to play and the fans create a great atmosphere.

"We all need to rise to that occasion and make sure we are putting in performances, week on week."

Now without a clean sheet in over a month, the 25-year-old stressed the importance of the Bantams regaining their defensive solidity.

Henley made his return to the starting line-up at Morecambe - last weekend - and is looking forward to the challenge of keeping his place and fighting to keep goals out.

The former Blackburn Rovers man added: "It was great for me to get back on the pitch, last weekend.

"It is always tough when you are not in the team. You have to give everything to prove to the manager you should be playing, but also bide your time and wait patiently for your chance.

"Keeping clean sheets is something us, as defenders, pride ourselves on.

"We were all bitterly disappointed at the end of the Morecambe game to have conceded that late goal, which shows you how much it means to us.

"We are determined to get back to keeping clean sheets which is the main aim for the defenders who start on Saturday."

Tickets are still on sale for tomorrow’s 3.00pm clash and can be purchased from the ticket office at the Utilita Energy Stadium or by CLICKING HERE.
