eSPORTS SEASON SET TO GET UNDERWAY

21 October 2019

Bradford City eSports are gearing up for an inaugural round of matches - with their season set to get underway tonight.

Formed in July, City's official eSports side is the first of its kind in West Yorkshire and will ply their trade among similar teams in the Virtual Pro Gaming (VPG) setup.

Competing in Championship North, the first team will begin their campaign at home to TruModz Spectral - at 9.00pm - before playing Illuminar Gaming at 9.30pm.

The Bantams' academy side are also at home in the first tie of their League Two South campaign, hosting NEXT LEVEL eSports.

General manager of Bradford City eSports, Paul Rinkauskas, is proud of how the club has developed since its formation - and cannot wait for the season to begin.

He said: "It cannot come soon enough for us. We are all very excited to begin our journey in VPG, with Bradford City.

"We have had a good, solid recruitment period since we launched and have a great core of players we believe can compete in the league we are in.

"From a personal perspective, I am really happy with how the squad has formed and the professionalism of all the players involved.

"Having a good management structure around me in Liam Hookins (first team coach) and Nathan Day (academy coach) has helped a lot.

"Their experience and willingness to make tough decisions has galvanised the atmosphere, without a doubt.

"We do not expect miracles, in our first season but will certainly look to ruffle a few feathers!"

Streams for all Bradford City eSports matches on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays can be found LIVE - from 7.30pm - via their official Twitch feed
