BIG MATCH PREVIEW: MORECAMBE v CITY

11 October 2019

City return to Sky Bet League Two action with a 3.00pm visit to Morecambe this Saturday (3.00pm).

The Bantams will be looking for back-to-back victories in front of over 1,600 travelling supporters who will travel to the west coast.

Jim Bentley's men have endured a difficult start to the campaign, sitting 23rd in the league with just one win from 12.

Tomorrow's hosts will be looking to build on an 18th-place finish, last season.

We have compiled a Big Match Preview packed full of everything you need to know ahead of the 3.00pm clash…

TEAM NEWS

City: Gary Bowyer will be with the services of top scorer and captain James Vaughan, who returns from a one-match suspension.

Paudie O'Connor is available for selection following last week's glute scare, while Ben Richards-Everton serves the final of his three-match suspension.

Morecambe: Home boss Jim Bentley could opt for a similar starting line-up to the one which lost 3-1 at Port Vale, last weekend.

The Morecambe manager, however, will be without defender Jordan Cranston, who was dismissed at Vale Park.

Home forward Kevin Ellison - who spent a period on loan at the Utilita Energy Stadium in 2011 - could face his former side.

WHAT THE MANAGERS SAID

Gary Bowyer: "I have told the players this will be our toughest game of the season, because it is the next one.

"Jim Bentley has done a fantastic job at Morecambe, over the years.

"He has proved he can get his teams going. We are in for a real fight which we have to go and match."

Jim Bentley: "Bradford are a big club who have a great following and they are bound to travel in huge numbers on Saturday so it will be a fantastic atmosphere and be one of those games that you are dying to play in.

"We want to play well and we want to create chances like we did in the early stages of the game against Port Vale but I would take a scrappy one-nil win at the minute.

"They are one of the top sides and have a great manager in Gary Bowyer but there is no better time to turn the corner for me."
