BOWYER LOOKING TO PICK UP WHERE CITY LEFT OFF

Gary Bowyer has called for his Bantams to rediscover their Sky Bet League Two form, ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Plymouth Argyle (3.00pm).

Bowyer’s men have been eliminated from both the Emirates FA Cup and Leasing.com Trophy since their last league outing, following defeats to higher-league opponents.

But the Bantams boss is hopeful his side - currently third in the table - can pick up the form they had demonstrated before their cup competition duty.

He said: "It is important we keep sight of the good form we were in, in the league - prior to our cup break - and do not let them defeats get to us.

"Our cup games have maybe distracted us from our good form in the league, a little bit. In our last league game, against Exeter, we scored two goals and kept a clean sheet.

"We have been doing really well in the league and the cup games probably slowed that.

"It is important we do not let it distract us any more and get back into our rhythm, going forward.

"We are playing with the cards we were dealt, in terms of being knocked out of competitions, but are focussed fully on the league, now."

Despite recent disappointment in cup outings, Bowyer insists the mood in his camp is still high.

The City chief is adamant the Pilgrims - despite their inconsistent start to the season - will provide a tough challenge, but is confident his side are ready to combat their threats.

Bowyer added: "The mood in the camp is good. We have been through our past few games and worked on areas which we need to improve on.

"We are looking forward to what should be a really good game of football.

"Ryan Lowe did a really good job at Bury - in the circumstances - and has gone about his business, at Plymouth, very well.

"I expect them to be right up there, around the automatic promotion places - come the end of the season.

"The spirits among our lads are very high and we are looking forward to Saturday."
