BIG MATCH PREVIEW: PLYMOUTH v CITY

22 November 2019

City return to Sky Bet League Two action with a 3.00pm visit to Plymouth Argyle, on Saturday (3.00pm).

The Bantams will be looking to bounce back from consecutive cup defeats - against Sky Bet League One opposition - in their first league encounter since November 2.

Ryan Lowe's side have enjoyed a recent upturn in form and are currently sat 11th in the table.

The south west outfit suffered relagation from Sky Bet League One - along with Gary Bowyer's men, last season.

We have compiled a Big Match Preview packed full of everything you need to know ahead of the 3.00pm clash…

TEAM NEWS

City: Gary Bowyer has no fresh injury concerns ahead of tomorrow's clash. Harry Pritchard is back fit again after appearing against Shrewsbury.

Jake Reeves could be in line to make his first league appearance for the Bantams since January 2018, following his recent return.

Fellow midfielder Chris Taylor could make his full debut for the club after featuring in last week's Leasing.com Trophy tie against Rochdale.

Plymouth: Former Bantam Billy Clarke could be in line to appear against Gary Bowyer's men, having signed for the Pilgrims last month.

One player who will not line up on Saturday, is Jose Baxter.

The forward mutually agreed to end his contract in Devon, this week, after a persistent calf problem.

WHAT THE MANAGERS SAID

Gary Bowyer: "We are looking forward to what should be a really good game of football.

"Ryan (Lowe) did really well at Bury, in the circumstances. He is going about his business at Plymouth really well.

"I think they will be right up there - by the automatic promotion places - come the end of the season."

Ryan Lowe: "Gary Bowyer is a good bloke and has got some good players. We are friends and we have a good relationship. He has changed the philosophy of the club.

"They can play football but they can hustle and bustle, too. It will be an entertaining game.

"They will be coming here trying to win. It's going to be a tough test - last season is irrelevant."

LAST TIME OUT

The Bantams' last meeting with Plymouth came last season, in Sky Bet League One.
