BIG MATCH PREVIEW: MACCLESFIELD v CITY

29 November 2019

City look to return to winning ways with a Sky Bet League Two trip to Macclesfield Town (3.00pm).

The Bantams will be aiming to pick up their first three points since November 2, after defeat on their return to leage action - at Plymouth Argyle - last weekend.

Daryl McMahon's team have endured a difficult start to the season, sat eight points above the relegation zone in 14th.

The Moss Rose outfit survived the Sky Bet League Two drop on the final day of last season, with Sol Campbell at the helm.

We have compiled a Big Match Preview packed full of everything you need to know ahead of the 3.00pm clash…

TEAM NEWS

City: Gary Bowyer has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the trip to Moss Rose.

Jake Reeves could again be in line to make his first league appearance for the Bantams since January 2018.

Fellow midfielder Chris Taylor could make his full debut for the club, while Matty Palmer and Shay McCartan are nearing their returns to fitness.

Macclesfield: Town boss Daryl McMahon is likely to again be without the services of Theo Archibald.

The winger picked up a knock in a draw with Mansfield Town - two weeks ago - and missed last week's draw with Salford City.

McMahon has limited options but could opt to start Emmanuel Osadebe after the attacker impressed from the bench at Moor Lane.

WHAT THE MANAGERS SAID

Gary Bowyer: "They are a well-organised team. I have been to watch them a few times and studied them - on video.

"The situation they are in brings the team closer together. I have been through it, myself.

"The group will be galvanised and they have been fighting for each other, with a clean sheet at Salford. We need to be at it."

LAST TIME OUT

City's last meeting with the Silkmen came in the first round of last season's Carabao Cup.

After a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes, it was the Moss Rose side who advanced, with a penalty shoot-out victory.
