BANTAMS TO BACK HEADS UP CAMPAIGN

29 November 2019

City and other EFL clubs have given their support to Heads Up, a football-focused mental health campaign.

The support partnership was confirmed following an address by the HRH Duke of Cambridge - at an EFL club meeting.

The key principles of the Heads Up campaign are aligned with work which is already well-underway through the EFL’s ground-breaking charity partnership with Mind.

This bond - which began at the beginning of the 2018/19 season - aims to improve the nation’s mental health and wellbeing.

EFL clubs will now join the wider football family in supporting Heads Up - from February 2020 - to raise awareness and encourage conversation around mental health.

EFL chair, Rick Parry, said: "The EFL is proud of its association with Mind and aware of the impact our clubs can have in raising awareness of such an important issue in communities, nationwide.

"We are delighted to be able to extend this work in supporting a hugely significant project being led by the HRH Duke of Cambridge in encouraging further conversation.

"We look forward to plans being confirmed in due course."
