AWAY DAY GUIDE: PORTSMOUTH v CITY

The Bantams take on Portsmouth this afternoon - in Sky Bet League One - and we have put together a helpful Away Day Guide to help you enjoy all of today's action (3.00pm).

PYROTECHNICS WARNING

The club would like to remind supporters that carrying pyrotechnics into a football ground or using them is strictly prohibited.

Those found to be carrying or using pyrotechnics will face a long-term ban.

THE GROUND

Portsmouth were founded in 1898 and the club have always played at Fratton Park.

Fratton Park today has a current (reduced) capacity for 19,669 supporters, although the stadium has had a much larger maximum capacity for 58,000 supporters after the construction of the North Stand in 1935. 

Fratton Park's record attendance is 51,385, reached in an FA Cup quarter-final match vs Derby County, on 26 February 1949, in which Portsmouth won 2-1.

City supporters will be housed in the Milton End with a normal allocation of 1,400 - but if needed - the maximum capactiy for away supporters can be 2,800. 

TICKETS  

Any tickets which were not collected from the Northern Commercials ticket office before 5.00pm, on Thursday March 1, can be redeemed at Fratton Park on matchday. 

GETTING THERE

By road...

From the west/midlands:
Continue along the M27 eastbound (ignoring the M275 turn off for Portsmouth city centre) on to the A27. At the junction with the A2030 turn right towards Southsea/Fratton. Continue along the A2030 and eventually you will see the ground in front of you.

From the M25:
Continue along the A3 southbound, which becomes the A3(M) and then joins the A27 westbound. At the junction with the A2030 turn left towards Southsea/Fratton. Continue along the A2030 and eventually you will see the ground in front of you.

From the east (Sussex): 
Continue along the A27 westbound. At the junction with the A2030 turn left towards Southsea/Fratton. Continue along the A2030 and eventually you will see the ground in front of you.

By rail...

Once at Fratton Station, exit via the footbridge and turn left onto Goldsmith Avenue. Continue along for approximately half a mile and Frogmore Road is on your left. Fratton Park is situated at the bottom.

PARKING

There is limited parking around Fratton Park and please note that parking restrictions might be in place in the roads around the stadium on a matchday.

Entrance to the club car park is via Anson Road, off Rodney Road. The postcode is PO4 8SX.

Spaces are allocated on a first-come first-served basis and a charge of £10 per vehicle will be made.

There is no entitlement to a specific space and stewards will allocate parking according to operational need.

Alternatively, free street parking is available within a 10-15 minute walk of the ground, but please be aware of any matchday parking restrictions.

ENTERTAINMENT & REFRESHMENTS

The pubs...

Popular with away fans is the Good Companion pub, which is on the main A2030 about a five-minute walk away from the ground. It is a large pub serving real ales and had a good mix of home and away support. 

On Milton Road close to the ground is the Brewers Arms which is popular with away fans. 

Inside the ground...

Alcohol is not available in the away section.

Other refreshments are available inside the ground.
