Bradford City Women’s have announced plans to re-introduce a reserve team ahead of the coming campaign, as pre-season preparations get underway.
Being again installed following a short break, the reserve side will compete in the FA Women’s Reserve League - with the first team gearing up for life in Division One North.
Open age (16+) pre-season trials will run every Tuesday and Thursday night - from 6.45pm until 8.30pm - and Sunday from 10.00am until 12.00pm (dependant on pre-season fixtures), beginning on Tuesday June 25.
The trials will be held at the club’s Woodhouse Grove training base and will run up until the beginning of the new season.
Women’s manager Steve Winterburn said: “We are looking forward to a new beginning. Since the club’s announcement of next season’s plans, the interest shown from new players has been a breath of fresh air.
“We have a new chairman, new coaches, new structure, new ideas and new plans.
“There is also an exciting relationship with the men’s club, which has put smiles back on the faces of the people who have been working tirelessly to get this club back on track.
“I cannot wait to get our pre-season underway and bring the excitement back to Bradford City Women’s.”
Bradford City Women’s would like to extend their congratulations to Ellen Kennedy and Phoebe Tomlin, who are to follow their dreams in continuing her journey to play in the USA.
Long-time treasurer Allyson Matthews - mum of former City winger Rosie McDonnell - is also stepping down from her role.
All new players are asked to register for pre-season trials with their name, date of birth, any previous clubs, preferred playing position and available date to commence training.
