BRADFORD CITY FC COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

24 January 2019

The Bradford City FC Community Foundation offers a wide range of activities for children both out-of-school and in-school through our successful Community Foundation Scheme, run by former player Ian Ormondroyd and his staff.

Set up in 1988 by the PFA, the Bradford City FC Community Foundation’s initial aim was to promote BCAFC in the community by increasing the fan base and awareness of the Club.

Since then, Ian Ormondroyd – ex-professional footballer and former Bradford City player – has built up the foundation to what it is today.

They offer a variety of activities and training courses for anyone who wishes to be active or work in sport.

Here’s what they have to offer:

BRADFORD CITY HOLIDAY FOOTBALL CAMPS

The camps are for boys and girls of all abilities aged 5-13 years.

The camps are centred around football, fun and games, and all our staff have enhanced DBS checks, are fully qualified in emergency aid and safeguarding, and all have minimum FA Level 2 qualifications.

The sessions run from 9:00am - 3.30pm daily, at the locations and on the dates listed below!

Don’t forget! Junior Bantams’ members get 10% OFF the Community Foundation’s holiday football camps!

Book your child on now by calling 01274 706850 or online by CLICKING HERE.

BANTAMS TOTS

Bantams Tots is a football-based activity session for children aged 3-5 years which takes the form of daily sessions throughout the city and close lying areas.

As well as learning core football and movement skills, children also develop their awareness of shapes, colours, simple numbers and social skills through a variety of activities including indoor arts & crafts when the weather is poor.

PREMIER LEAGUE PRIMARY STARS

This programme inspires primary school children in everything from literacy, reading and maths, to teamwork and sport, with the Premier League Primary Stars programme.

Their coaches work in schools providing curriculum-linked PE, PHSE, numeracy, literacy and enterprise resources for 5 - 11 year olds.

BCFC Community Foundation can offer all aspects of PLPS to your school, initially providing PE and teacher support to help deliver sport in school, and then moving on to engaging and encouraging pupils in literacy and numeracy.

The programme has proved to be really popular over the last few years, especially as it encourages children who wouldn’t normally read to get immersed in books.

FOOTBALL EDUCATION PROGRAMME

The Community Foundation also give boys and girls the opportunity to pursue their love for sport.

The Football & Education Programme is available to school leavers, both boys and girls, who wish to continue their studies whilst still pursuing their love for sport.

The scholars study a BTEC Level 3 extended Diploma in Sport at our purpose built Education base, where we have 2 full time teachers working with the scholars.

The course includes all different aspects of sport, such as sports psychology, coaching and sports science and is the equivalent to 3 A-Levels.

Football and Education teach, Matt Marshall says, “It’s a fantastic course and base for anybody wishing to follow a career in sport and/or access to University”.
