OPPOSITION GUIDE: MORECAMBE

Gary Bowyer's Bantams look to record back-to-back victories tomorrow, entertaining Morecambe in their first game of 2020 - in Sky Bet League Two. 

The Shrimps have endured a challenging campaign thus far, currently sat 23rd in the table - one point clear of the bottom.

With action set to get underway from 3.00pm, we have compiled an Opposition Guide, packed full of detailed information on tomorrow’s visitors...

SUMMER TRANSFER ACTIVITY

The Globe Arena side made 9 additions to their squad in the summer transfer window, with a further 8 heading out. 

Ins: Joe Lynch (Crewe Alexandra), Tom Brewitt (AFC Fylde), Shaun Miller (Crewe Alexandra, loan), Michael Howard (Preston North End), John O'Sullivan (Blackpool), Adam Buxton (Tranmere Rovers), Lewis Alessandra (Notts County), Cole Stockton (Tranmere Rovers), George Tanner (Manchester United, loan). 

Outs: Ben Hedley (Bradford (Park Avenue)), Adam Campbell (Darlington), James Sinclair (Oskarshamn), Dawid Szczepaniak (Wrexham), Vadaine Oliver (Northampton Town), Aaron Collins (Forest Green Rovers), Zak Mills (Oldham Athletic), Andy Fleming (retired). 

ONES TO WATCH

Kevin Ellison: 

Much-travelled forward Kevin Ellison carries a wealth of EFL experience, even serving a spell on loan at the Bantams - in 2011. 

The 40-year-old has been at Morecambe eight years and has also turned out for the likes of Rotherham United, Hull City and Tranmere Rovers. 

Cole Stockton:  

A powerful forward, Stockton made a permanent move to Morecambe in the summer, having spent two seperate loan spells at the Globe Arena - in 2016 and 2017. 

The 25-year-old began his career at Tranmere Rovers and has also served permanent stints at Heart of Midlothian and Carlisle United. 

Lewis Alessandra:

After spending two years in Lancaster between 2011 and 2013, Alessandra made his return to the Globe Arena during the summer. 

The experienced 30-year-old forward has also represneted the likes of Oldham Athletic, Plymouth Argyle, Notts County and Hartlepool United.

Andrew Tutte: 

A product of Manchester City's youth academy, Tutte has been capped by England at youth level. 

The midfielder has served spells at Rochdale and Bury and is now in the second year of his contract at Morecambe. 

THE MANAGER

Derek Adams has been at the Morecambe helm since November when he replaced long-serving Jim Bentley. 

An experienced manager, the Glasweigan spent four years at Plymouth Argyle after two seperate spells in the Ross County hot seat. 

As a player, the 44-year-old most-notably represented the Staggies and Motherwell as a midfielder, as well as spending time at the likes of Aberdeen, Livingston and Burnley. 

THE CAPTAIN

Skipper Barry Roche is not short of EFL experience, having spent three years at Chesterfield before moving to Morecambe - in 2008. 

The goalkeeper has made 458 appearances for the Lancaster outfit. 

An Irishman, the 37-year-old is a product of Leeds United's academy and has been capped by his country at under-21 level. 

LAST TIME OUT

The Shrimps fell to back-to-back defeats in their last outing, losing out 1-0 at Cambridge United.
