BALL RARING TO GO

David Ball is relishing the prospect of making his home debut in City colours.

The 28-year-old striker arrived at the Northern Commercials Stadium last week and appeared for the first time when Bradford faced Blackpool, after joining from Championship side Rotherham.

Charlton are next up for David Hopkin’s Bantams and newcomer Ball says he and his fellow team-mates have prepared well.

“I have always enjoyed coming to Valley Parade - and the fans really get behind their team,” said the on-loan forward.

“We have some tough games coming up, starting on Saturday, but I am really looking forward to stepping out onto the field as a Bradford player - on home soil.

“I have an opportunity to make an impact, which is something I am looking to do. I will give everything and try to make things happen.

“The season hasn’t started as well as the club would have hoped but there is a long way to go and training has been great this week.

“I have been in two play-off teams in the last two seasons, in League One and that is of course where I want to be. It’s where Bradford City wants to be and that is why I am here.

“It is worth noting Rotherham were 17th in December, last season, and we went on a 15-game unbeaten run.

“It took us into the play-offs and we got promoted. When things come together, it is a league you can quickly climb.”
