HOPKIN: 'IT SHOULD BE A GREAT OCCASION'

24 November 2018

City head coach David Hopkin says his side are relishing the prospect of this afternoon's crunch Sky Bet League One clash against Oxford United (3.00pm).

More than 19,000 tickets have been sold for the fixture, which could see the Bantams move clear of the foot of the table.

"It is going to be a fantastic occasion and we are expecting a huge crowd for what is a very important game," said Hopkin.

"The club has done fantastically well to get so many tickets sold - and we need everyone behind the team.

"At this moment in time we need to stick together and generate plenty of positivity.

"The players will respond to it and give a good account of themselves. We need to compete and do all we can to get a result. The supporters can play a huge part in our success.

"Everyone is looking forward to it and the atmosphere we can generate. The players really want to perform for the fans.

"Oxford are a team in very good form and we will have to match them in every department.

"But if we get our approach right, I think we will give ourselves every opportunity to get something from the game."

New signing Karl Henry is eligible to feature, with Paul Caddis returning to the fray after being forced to miss Tuesday's Emirates FA Cup game against Aldershot Town.
