AWAY DAY GUIDE: LUTON v CITY

City's Sky Bet League One campaign continues this evening as the Bantams travel 172 miles to face Luton Town (7.45pm).

For those who are making the journey this evening, we have put together the following matchday guide:

THE GROUND

Kenilworth Road has been home to Luton Town since 1905 when they left Dunstable Road.

As one of the oldest stadiums in football, Kenilworth Road has a reputation of being a unique place to come as a visiting supporter.

With the away end (Oak Road End) packed tightly into the neighbouring residential houses, proximity to home supporters and the traditional stands.

Kenilworth Road has the capacity of 10,356.

TICKETS

Supporters wishing to travel to Kenilworth Road this evening will NOT be able to pay on the gate.

Any tickets purchased over the phone will be ready for collection at the Oak Road turnstiles.

Ambulant disabled fans will pay one category lower than their normal price, (for example, Adults pay £13.00, Seniors £10).

Disabled fans will be permitted a carer free of charge provided they are in receipt of DLA or PIP at the mid or higher rate.

There are five wheelchair spaces available, wheelchair fans will need to contact Luton Town's ticket office directly on 01582 416976 to book tickets.

GETTING THERE

By Train…
The nearest station is Luton station (in Station Road, Luton LU1 2LT) on the Midland line, operated by ThamesLink.
From the station, the ground is a 15-20 minute walk. We recommend you take advantage of the free buses to / from the ground that the Police are offering (from 2015) for away fans.

By Bus…

Alternatively, from the Bus Interchange opposite the station, take the “Luton - Dunstable Busway” which stops outside the ground (close to Oak Road stadium entrances). Busway routes A,B,C or F70 to the Clifton Road stop.

(There are also local stations at Leagrave, and the Luton Airport Parkway with connecting bus routes)

By Car…
Exit the M1 at Junction 11, proceed along A505 dual carriageway. After 1 mile, take 2nd exit at roundabout, then straight across 2 sets of traffic lights and down the hill. Follow signs to the Town Centre / Station.

Street parking near the ground is very limited. We recommend you park at or near the main train station (as above). Other car parking options are available below.

NB. Oak Road itself is closed to traffic on matchdays apart from licensed away supporter coaches.

By Plane…
London- Luton airport is 2 miles from Junction 10A of the M1, and some 2 miles from the Town centre. There are regular bus services, and taxi services from outside the airport terminal.

PARKING

Parking at the stadium is very limited indeed which means that unfortunately, car parking spaces are not available to the general public.

Power Court…

A car park named ‘Power Court’ approximately 1.9miles away from the ground offer special matchday rates:

Saturdays: 12:00hrs – 18:00hrs ONLY £1 with a permit.
Tuesdays: from 17:00hrs – FREE PARKING with a permit.

Download your permit by:

Click this link, and complete the short form which includes your car’s number plate.
Submit the form and click the link to download your permit which appears on the confirmation screen.
Print the permit off and display it clearly on your dashboard when parking on a match day.
If you are parking on a Saturday afternoon, purchase a ticket for £1 from one of the machines and display it with your permit.

ENTERTAINMENT & REFRESHMENTS

The Pubs…

Beech Hill Conservative Club on Leagrave Road welcomes both home and away supporters. To find the club, with the away entrance in front of you turn left and walk down to the bottom of Oak Road. Proceed through the small arcade of shops opposite and you will see the sign for the club between two shops. It has a large car park (which costs £4) and offers reasonably priced beer.

The town centre is approximately a 20minute walkaway where there are a number of pubs including a Wetherspoons outlet on Bridge Street called the White House.

The Food…

Away supporters have access to traditional matchday fare such as pies, hotdogs, hot and cold beverages. But if you're planning an evening out there are over 80 restaurants in the area, there’s a great selection of Chinses, English, Indian, Italian and Thai food. In no particular order, here’s just a few examples :-

Inside The Ground…
There is a licensed bar in the ground for away fans which is situated to the left hand side as you look at the pitch from the Oak Road End. Supporters can purchase alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, snack and confectionery from this bar.
