It’s Time To Watch The Grass Grow…

30 May 2018

The drainage is done, and the seeds have been planted at The Northern Commercials Stadium.

The Club committed to upgrading the Valley Parade pitch after poor weather conditions towards the end of season 2017/18.

We are delighted to announce that after tough working conditions, the team have finished the drainage and have seeded the pitch.

FIFA and UEFA approved consultant, Richard Hayden from Hayden Turfcare, oversaw the work done by CLS Sport Ltd.

The new drainage system has already shown what it’s capable of. On Friday (26th May), we experienced heavy rain for the first time since the renovation started. Usually, the rain would take 24 hours to filter through the soil, but on Friday it only took three hours. Richard Hayden has told us that this will get even better once the grass grows.

Bradford City’s Head Groundsman, Mick Doyle, will be proceeding with the growing stage.

Hear from the expert himself, Richard Hayden.
