The major pitch renovation has begun at The Northern Commercials Stadium.
In April 2018, the club committed to significantly upgrading the Valley Parade pitch by installing a new drainage system.
Bradford City Football Club are working with FIFA and UEFA approved consultant Richard Hayden, from Hayden Turfcare Ltd in Wetherby who is overseeing the work carried out by CLS Sport Ltd.
To start the renovation, CLS Sport started by ‘Koro Stripping’ the pitch. This removes the top 30-40mm of the pitch, to get down to a sand material.
From there, a new draining system will be installed, along with a reinstatement of fibre sand reinforcement.
Richard Hayden explains how this will improve the stability of the pitch, and the players performance “that will make the pitch more stable so the players have for sure a better footing”.

Later this week (weather permitting), the ground will be taken up and we will see the old drainage system and start replacing it with the new one.
