On 11 May 1985, 33 years ago today, over 11,000 fans packed into Valley Parade to witness Bradford City play Lincoln City and receive the Third Division Championship Trophy at the Bantams' final home match of the season.
However, it would eventually turn out to be the worst day in the football club's 115 year history and one that sent shock-waves around the world as fire engulfed the main stand roughly five minutes before half time.
Tragically, the fire disaster killed 56 supporters - 54 from Bradford and 2 from Lincoln - on that fateful day and left over 250 injured.
Today (Friday) the football club and the City of Bradford will remember those who perished in the disaster during the now-annual service of remembrance held in Centenary Square, Bradford at 11:00am.
The service will include prayers and the laying of wreaths at the memorial in the square.
With Bradford City directors, management, players and staff in attendance, the service will also include one minute's silence, allowing those present to reflect on the tragic events of 33 years ago and to pay their respects.
Throughout today, the football club would like to invite supporters - should they wish to do so - to leave any floral and/or other tributes at the Valley Parade fire memorial at the Northern Commercials Stadium
The JCT600 Main Stand will also be open from 12noon to give supporters the opportunity for some quiet reflection on this day of remembrance.
The Ticket Office at the Northern Commercials Stadium will be closed between 10:00-13:00.
The Club Shop will be closed all day, but will re-open on Saturday (12th May) 10:00-15:00.
