A second half fight-back from Bristol Rovers condemned the Bantams to defeat at the Memorial Stadium this Saturday.
Charlie Wyke's penalty opener - his 13th goal of the season - gave City the lead at the interval, but Rovers defender Joe Partington levelled things up eight minutes after the break.
The game was still level with six minutes of normal time remaining when the hosts were given a spot-kick for a foul on Ellis Harrison by Nathaniel Knight-Percival.
Chris Lines made no mistake with the resulting penalty to put Rovers in front for the first time in the game.
Romain Vincelot headed narrowly wide at the other end soon after, but the Pirates made the game safe three minutes from the end after a fine finish by Liam Sercombe from inside the box.
