BIG MATCH PREVIEW | CHARLTON ATHLETIC (AWAY)

13 February 2018

The Bantams make the journey south to Charlton Athletic this Tuesday (13 February 2018) for new boss Simon Grayson's first game in charge.

Grayson and his assistant manager Glynn Snodin took training at Apperley Bridge for the first time on Monday following confirmation of their appointment early Sunday afternoon.

Given the quick turnaround between Saturday's 2-2 draw at home to Bury and this Charlton fixture, both Kenny Black and Greg Abbott are expected to travel along with Grayson and Snodin to help oversee Tuesday's match at The Valley.

City will be hoping that the boost of Grayson's arrival will help get them back to winning ways after going agonisingly close to victory over Bury at the weekend.

Opponents Charlton are two points and one place behind the Bantams in the current Sky Bet League One table, meaning this Tuesday evening's game is an important one for both sides.

Team News

Charlton Athletic
Addicks defender Jason Pearce could be back in contention after making a return from a knee injury in Charlton U23s' Premier League Cup match with Stoke City on Monday.

Pearce, who has missed the last few months as a result of the injury, could possibly be named on the bench following his recent match action.

Lewis Page and Nicky Ajose are also back fit for Charlton.

Former Bantams attacker Mark Marshall is expected to make his first appearance against City since leaving the club last summer.

Fellow winger Stephy Mavididi is out with a hamstring injury, however.

Although Marshall is likely to feature against City on Tuesday, another ex-Bradford player - Billy Clarke - is sidelined for the rest of the season due to a serious knee injury.

Bradford City
Matthew Kilgallon is suspended for Tuesday's trip to Charlton after picking up a red card against Bury at the weekend.

Jake Reeves is still sidelined with an on-going groin problem, while Omari Patrick (knee) and Alex Jones (ankle) continue to make progress from their own injury issues.

Nicky Law (illness) and Matthew Lund (ankle) could come back into the reckoning.

After featuring for Charlton in the same fixture last season, Adam Chicksen could feature for City against one of his former clubs.
