George Miller insists the Bantams are continuing to improve ahead of tonight’s Emirates FA Cup second-round replay against Peterborough United (kick-off 7.45pm).
City will face Miller’s parent club, Middlesbrough, if they can progress against their Cambridgeshire-based opponents this evening.
David Hopkin’s men have lost just once in their last six outings, a fact Miller attributes to the “growing standards” across the squad.
The striker said: “A few months ago, we would have taken a point at Plymouth. But now things are starting to click and I think the fans can see that, which is why we were disappointed with the draw.
“People watching us will see that we are improving and building in the right direction. On-field partnerships are developing. Things are really starting to come together.
“We have more about us these days, especially going forward. As a team, though, we need to tighten ourselves up to stop those goals going in.
“We will face a difficult team in Peterborough but are confident going into it. We are back on home soil, in front of our home support.
Miller grabbed his first goal since September in Saturday’s 3-3 Sky Bet League One draw at Plymouth.
Despite maintaining a good vein of form, the Bantams were left disappointed to have only picked up a point.
He added: “It was definitely two points lost rather than one gained, in my view.
“There was frustration in the camp at full-time because we knew we should have won the game.
“When you score three goals in the way we did, we had to be coming home with all three points.
“There are positives to take from the Plymouth game. We scored three goals, which we haven’t managed to do in other games, but it wasn’t enough.
“We needed to get the win but we will learn from it. Our game management should have helped us slow things down and kill the game off.
“We need to start picking up wins between now and January in order to close the gap between ourselves and safety - and I am confident we will.”
Admission for tonight’s Emirates FA Cup clash is priced at £10 (adults), £5 (concessions) and £1 (juniors).
The Northern Commercials Stadium’s ticket office is open until 5.00pm - and you will be able to pay on the gate.
