Stefan Rupp has spoken of his excitement ahead of today’s Sky Bet League One opener at Shrewsbury Town.
The Bantams take on last season’s play-off finalists at Montgomery Waters Meadow this afternoon and the City co-owner is looking forward to the weeks and months ahead.
Rupp said: “We have invested in what we believe is a very exciting and talented squad. We have a good blend of quality, youth and experience.
“We have a group of players who are fully committed. They want to play for the badge and fight for their place in the team.
“This season presents a massive opportunity for everyone involved. League One is a tough division but we have a much-improved squad, featuring players capable of achieving.
“Michael Collins, Martin Drury and Greg Abbott have Bradford City at heart and we are delighted to have them in charge. The recruitment work done by them over the past few months speaks for itself.
“We want to improve on last season and desire, which we have in abundance, will play a big part in that.
“If we are in the promotion mix come the end of the season it will be fantastic. But this is a long-term project for us and a great deal has already been achieved.
"Edin and I are fully committed to taking this club where our supporters would love it to be. We are proud to be at the helm of a club which means so much to so many people.
“We want to give the people of Bradford a team to be proud of and we are committed to doing all we can to deliver success.
“Everyone associated with the club shares a common goal. We win together and lose together.
“This club boasts an incredible fanbase and I would like to personally thank you for your continued support going into the new season.
“We have learned a lot over the past three years and have experienced some good times. With your support, we hope to enjoy success this season.”
