COLLINS: 'I EXPECT THE PLAYERS TO RESPOND'

Michael Collins has called on his Bantams to take their opportunity when Burton Albion visit the Northern Commercials Stadium tomorrow.

City enter the Sky Bet League One contest on the back of a disappointing defeat at Southend.

And Collins is demanding a response from his side, after labelling the Bantams’ last performance as “unacceptable”.

“Tomorrow night offers a great opportunity for us to immediately put right what went wrong at Southend,” he said.

“When things don’t go the way you anticipate them to, you get a chance to go again - very quickly - and that is the beauty of football.

“We want to impress in front of the home fans but it doesn’t add any extra pressure. As long as we are 100 per-cent committed then we will get the support.

“Tomorrow I want to see the dedication the fans have shown, from the players. I expect the players to go out there and fight for the three points.

“I fully expect to see the kind of reaction we need in order to get the result against Burton. It is a great opportunity for us.

“I think they will come and look to feed on the fact we have had a tough seven days. They will come with some confidence, having picked up a good result on Saturday.

“We lost on Saturday and, without being disrespectful to our opposition, the result didn’t come on the back of what Southend did. It was more about what we didn’t do.

“Going into tomorrow, the focus is again on us. We respect Burton, but we have to show the endeavour, fight and spirit we showed at Shrewsbury.

“We had difficult spells in that game and battled to overcome them in order to take home the three points.

“On the back of a challenging week, tomorrow gives us a chance to go out there and show what it means to represent Bradford City Football Club.”
