KILGALLON DEPARTS CITY

31 August 2018

Bradford City can confirm Matt Kilgallon has left the club by mutual consent.

Kilgallon, 34, arrived at the Northern Commercials Stadium in 2016 and departs with immediate effect.

It is understood the former Blackburn Rover will take up a contract with Scottish Premiership side Hamilton Academical.

Greg Abbott, City’s head of recruitment, said: “We would like to wish Matt the very best as he departs the club for pastures new.

“He has been a fantastic professional and, given the stage he is at with his career, he wants to be playing regular football.

“We don’t want to stand in the way of that and, having known Matt personally since he was a teenager, on behalf of everyone at Bradford City, I want to wish him all the very best for the future.”

Meanwhile, Josef Hefele has joined Nottingham Forest on an initial three-month loan agreement.
