WALSALL MATCH POSTPONED

2 April 2018

The Club can confirm that City's Easter Monday home fixture with Walsall in Sky Bet League One has now been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Referee Carl Boyeson took the decision to call the game off on Monday morning after prolonged rain showers overnight and persistent snowfall during the day had sadly left the pitch at the Northern Commercials Stadium unplayable.

Mr Boyeson also took into consideration the fact that the wet and wintry weather is set to continue throughout the day when making his decision to postpone the fixture.

The Club had made every effort to try and ensure this Monday's Walsall fixture would take place, including placing covers on the pitch overnight.

Ground-staff also worked on the pitch all day Easter Sunday (1 April), with some of this work including the use of a hired Air2G2 machine to aerate the pitch.

No new date for this match has been confirmed as of yet.
