LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION - NEW BIG SCREEN INITIATIVES

10 April 2018

With only five home games of the season left to go, we as a club would like to try a couple of new ideas that have been suggested to us by the fans and supporters.

We’d like to give you the opportunity to become more involved with the Bantams on match days, by seeing yourself appear on the big screen at half-time!

Do you have a special occasion coming up? Birthday, stag/hen do, or an anniversary?

Use the hashtag #TweetYourSeat in reply to @officialbantams before kick-off on match days with your block, row, and seat number, and be in with a chance to get your starring role on the half-time Fan Cam. Embarrass your mums and dads, mates, or kids with a surprise appearance!

Supplied by Keybury Fire & Security, the cameras will be scouting the crowd for those who Tweet in with their seats, as well as those who make themselves known. So give us a wave or bust a move to the half-time music playlist, and show your support on the big screen.

Chief Operating Officer, James Mason, had this to say on the initiative: “This time before the end of the season allows us to experiment and try new things to build into next season, particularly now as on-field results aren’t as inspiring as we would like them to be.

"Some suggestions have been in regards to the big screen, the programme, and social media, and the ways in which these interact with the fans.

"Supporters can share photos of their children attending their first games, established fans are encouraged to share their pre-match rituals, and birthday messages always have pride of place on the scoreboard.

"The big screen will be fully utilised in the coming weeks and into next season as we look to introduce action replays, and the #TweetYourSeat scheme is a great way for fans to get involved.”

On the introduction of action replays to the screen, scoreboard operator Jess Kirton added, “Thanks to Keybury Fire & Security, we are lucky enough to have several cameras set around the stadium that are capable of recording and rewinding footage on command.

"The aim now is to implement these more effectively into the match-day experience with things like Fan Cam and action replays. For the rest of the season, we’ll be trialling the replays and constantly reviewing what can be improved.

"They won’t yet be perfect, but the goal is to have them fully operational and established for the 2018/19 season.”

Over the next few weeks, the club needs your support more than ever, and any ideas are always gladly appreciated.

The #TweetYourSeat initiative will be in place for Thursday’s fixture with Shrewsbury Town (kick-off 7:45pm), and fans are encouraged to get involved and show their support in the final stretch of the season.
