BIG MATCH PREVIEW | WALSALL (HOME)

1 April 2018

Simon Grayson's Bantams play the second game of their Easter double-header on Monday when Walsall arrive at the Northern Commercials Stadium.

Grayson's men will be looking to bounce back against the Saddlers on Easter Monday following Thursday night's defeat at title-chasing Blackburn Rovers.

For Walsall, Monday's fixture will be their second in just 48 hours after losing out 1-0 at home to Portsmouth as recently as Saturday.

Walsall's match with Portsmouth was just new boss Dean Keates' second game in charge at the Banks's Stadium.

Keates - a former player at Walsall - was appointed as Saddlers manager in the middle of last month after a poor run of form cost previous chief Jon Whitney his job.

Walsall, who also lost Keates' first game in charge 3-0 at home to Wigan Athletic, are currently four points above the relegation zone.

City's home match with Walsall comes nearly virtually a year to the day that the Saddlers visited the Northern Commercials Stadium last season.

The Bantams won that fixture 1-0 back in 2017 thanks to Billy Clarke's second half winner.

Team News

Bradford City
Tyrell Robinson has an outside chance of being involved after missing the last two games with a groin problem.

Matthew Lund is still sidelined with a hamstring problem, while Jake Reeves (groin) and Ryan McGowan (knee) are also ruled out.

Alex Jones is unavailable as well due to an issue with his ankle.

Paul Taylor missed Thursday's match at Blackburn Rovers due to personal reasons.

Walsall
Saddlers boss Dean Keates could look to make changes for Monday's trip to Valley Parade - Walsall's second fixture in just three days.

In an effort to freshen up his side, Keates may possibly introduce the likes of George Dobson, Florent Cuvelier and Justin Shaibu - all of whom came off the bench against Portsmouth - into his starting XI against the Bantams.

Joe Edwards is out for the rest of the season due to a serious knee injury.

Two of those matches have involved the Bantams - City's Checkatrade Trophy match at Chesterfield towards the start of the season and the home game with Plymouth Argyle last November. The two assistant referees alongside Mr Boyeson for the Walsall fixture will be David Benton and Paul Thompson. The fourth official at the Northern Commercials Stadium is scheduled to be Alf Greenwood.
