BIG MATCH PREVIEW | BLACKPOOL (AWAY)

6 April 2018

Following Easter Monday's postponed home fixture with Walsall, Simon Grayson's Bantams are now scheduled to kick off their final full month of the regular league campaign with a trip to Blackpool this Saturday (7 April 2018).

Backed by over 2,000 City supporters, Grayson's men will travel to Bloomfield Road looking to kick start their push for an end-of-season play-off berth.

City may have a number of competitors above them currently in the race for a top six spot, but with games in hand and plenty of action still to come this month, Grayson's squad will be confident of getting themselves right back in the mix if they can get on a winning run.

The Bantams will naturally be keen to get such a run started at the weekend against the Tangerines.

In their first season back in League One following promotion via the play-offs last May, Blackpool will be hoping to claim a mid-table finish for the 2017/2018 campaign.

The Seasiders are currently placed in sixteenth position in the table, five points off the relegation zone with six matches left in their league schedule.

Like City's previous away fixture at Blackburn Rovers, Blackpool are another club with links to City's manager.

Grayson finished his playing days at Bloomfield Road before taking his first steps into management with the Tangerines.

The Bantams boss actually secured promotion up into the Championship for Blackpool back in 2007 thanks to a play-off final success over Yeovil Town.

Team News

Blackpool
Right back Kelvin Mellor is expected to miss out once again due to an ankle injury.

Striker Mark Cullen is back in contention, however, after making a return from injury as a late substitute in Blackpool's 2-1 loss at Oldham Athletic on Easter Monday.

Cullen, who previously enjoyed a brief loan spell with the Bantams earlier in his career, was sidelined for seven months of the campaign with a troublesome hamstring problem.

Bradford City
Matthew Lund (hamstring) and Tyrell Robinson (groin) have an outside chance of returning to the match-day squad.

Alex Jones continues to receive treatment on an ankle problem, while Jake Reeves and Ryan McGowan also remain sidelined.

Paul Taylor is set to miss the trip to Bloomfield Road for personal reasons.
