THE BANTAMS LAUNCH 'THE BRADFORD CITY INCLUSION ADVISORY GROUP'

12 April 2018

At Bradford City, we are very proud of the work we do with other organisations and within the local community. But we believe we can do more.

This Friday (13th April) is the launch of the Bradford City Inclusion Advisory Group (IAG).

The IAG will aim to eliminate any form of abuse directed at any group within the society, advance equality of opportunities amongst all communities linked with Bradford City FC, foster a good relationship with all supporters, communities and partners, and, of course, support Bradford City.

To introduce the Bradford City IAG, official members of the group will be coming to the Northern Commercials Stadium this Friday to give an overview of who they are, what they set out to achieve and how they will do it.

The IAG board has a set core of officials and equality champions with the relevant knowledge and experience to make it successful.

Some representatives in the IAG are individuals from Bradford Council, West Yorkshire Police, West Riding County FA and other bodies as deemed appropriate.

We are introducing the IAG to make every Bantam fan feel included and one of the team.

Jaimie Dorward, Bradford City FC Disability Liaison wants to ensure nothing stops the current or younger generation from feeling welcome "As a parent you want more for your children, my son is disabled and can be isolated from the things we take for granted because of it.

"To me he is unique and special with a wealth of talent to offer the world which unfortunately is not yet fully geared to provide it for him.

"The IAG is about making sure that no matter what makes you special you fit in here at Bradford City FC and you are a valued member of the Bantams family."

Anwar Uddin from Kick It Out will be speaking at the event and believes this is how clubs can go forward “I think it’s fantastic that the club wants to connect with everyone from the club and so many strands together.”

“Showcasing the great work the club can do and gives every opportunity for others to discuss what is best the best way to go forward and bring people together”.

As well as those representatives, the Lord Mayor and a member of Simon Grayson's first team squad will be attending the launch of the Bradford City IAG.

The launch will be taking place in the 1911 Bar at The Northern Commercials Stadium, 11am-1pm.
