BIG MATCH PREVIEW | NORTHAMPTON TOWN (AWAY)

22 September 2017

Stuart McCall's Bantams travel to Sixfields Stadium this Saturday (23 September 2017) to play Northampton Town in their latest Sky Bet League One fixture.

Following last Saturday's hard-fought Yorkshire derby victory over Rotherham United, McCall's side are now five games unbeaten in League One going into their encounter with the Cobblers.

Speaking of five, this weekend's game will be new Northampton boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's fifth match in charge at Sixfields.

After replacing Justin Edinburgh in the Northampton hot-seat following a poor start to the season for the Cobblers, Hasselbaink won his first two games in charge at home to Doncaster Rovers and Portsmouth.

Last weekend saw the Cobblers draw 2-2 at Southend United after being two goals up at the break, while Hasselbaink's side narrowly lost 1-0 at Wigan Athletic in midweek.

Team News

Northampton Town
Influential midfielder Matt Crooks is back available to the Cobblers after missing Tuesday's defeat at Wigan due to suspension.

6' 4'' Crooks, who signed for Northampton from Rangers in the summer, has netted three goals from midfield in his last three games.

Defender Ash Taylor and midfielder Matt Grimes, on loan from Swansea City, are also expected to be up for selection at the weekend despite both picking up knocks at Wigan.

Aaron Phillips, Sam Hoskins, Shaun McWilliams, George Smith and John-Joe O'Toole are all likely to be still sidelined for this Saturday's fixture.

Bradford City
Timothee Dieng (calf) is expected to be the only outfield player from Stuart McCall's senior playing squad unavailable for this weekend.

Dieng is making progress in training, however, and could be targeting a return to action in the next couple of weeks.

Rouven Sattelmaier is still ruled out with a hamstring problem.

Romain Vincelot and Tony McMahon were carrying knocks going into last Saturday's match with Rotherham United but the pair are likely to be fine for this weekend.
