McCALL GIVES SQUAD UPDATE AHEAD OF CHARLTON FIXTURE

20 October 2017

Stuart McCall has given an update on his squad ahead of Saturday's Sky Bet League One encounter with Charlton Athletic, with the potential of a number of absentees going into the fixture.

One player who will certainly be sitting out is Romain Vincelot. The City skipper picked up his 5th booking of the season during Tuesday evening's draw against Oldham Athletic meaning he will now serve a one-game suspension.

McCall said: 'Romain is suspended and Adam Chicksen is out injured. He would have been coming up against his former club but he has sustained a severe thigh injury and is absolutely gutted to be missing out, especially after missing the start of the season with a fractured cheekbone picked up on the opening day.'

'We've got two or three players who are major doubts really, not long term doubts but it may be a case of us not risking any of those for Saturday.'

'Having said that, we’ve got people in the squad desperate to get a game and Paul Taylor is one who showed what he can do when he gets a chance, with his goal and performance on Tuesday. We’ve got a number of players ready to stake their claim for a regular place in the squad.'

'I think we’ll be without a couple but that’s football, we get on with it and whoever gets selected will be ready to give their utmost.'
