The World Cup dreams of City trio Adam Thompson, Shay McCartan and Colin Doyle are still alive following the final round of qualifiers.
Monday night's dramatic 1-0 victory in Wales for Doyle's Republic of Ireland saw them secure a spot in the Play-Offs.
Following his fine performance in City's 4-1 win at MK Dons at the weekend, Doyle was listed as a substitute for Ireland at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Northern Ireland will also make up part of the World Cup Play-Offs despite losing 1-0 in Norway on Sunday.
Thompson was part of the group that made the journey to Oslo, although team-mate McCartan was unable to join up with the squad due to a calf problem.
The two-legged World Cup Play-Offs will take place between the 9-14 November 2017.
