BACKHOUSE TO OFFICIATE CHESTERFIELD FA CUP TIE

31 October 2017

The Bantams' Emirates FA Cup first round tie with Chesterfield this Saturday (4 November 2017) will be officiated by Anthony Backhouse.

This weekend's tie will be Mr Backhouse's second visit to the Northern Commercials Stadium in just over a month after he also took charge of City's 2-0 home win over Doncaster Rovers at the end of September.

This season is the first at EFL level for Mr Backhouse following his promotion up from the National Conference over the summer.

The Cumbria-based official took charge of twenty-three matches at National League level last season, including the Play-Off Final between Forest Green Rovers and Tranmere Rovers at Wembley Stadium.

He has been in the middle for fifteen matches so far this season, his most recent fixture coming at Mansfield Town last Saturdays as the Stags drew 1-1 at home to Exeter City.

The assistant referees for Saturday's Chesterfield tie will be Danny Gratton and Stephen Wade.

The fourth official at Valley Parade is scheduled to be Paul Marsden.
