Following a widely circulated report which highlighted the cost of contacting the Bantams, the Club has taken action to scrap our premium rate phone numbers.
The 0871 numbers were inherited when the club changed ownership in 2016 and following consultation with fans, the decision has been made to switch to a local rate phone number.
Chief Operating Officer James Mason said: “Our previous phone line was an 0871 number which typically cost fans 13p per minute plus network charges, of which the club didn’t see a penny.
"As soon as it became possible to revert back to the local number, it was an easy decision to make”.
The move has also been welcomed by David Hickson of The Fair Telecoms Campaign, who commented: “We are delighted that the club has put this right. It is the telephone companies who make most money out of use of 084/087 numbers.
"We continue to campaign to see all those who use these numbers recognise this rip-off and take their responsibility for ending it.”
By switching to the 01274 number we happy to inform supporters that the cost to call us will be no more than their UK inland call charge, and will be included in any inclusive minute packages they may have from their landline or mobile operator.
