Stuart McCall's Bantams held off a strong second half showing from Charlton Athletic to secure a battling draw from their trip to The Valley.

With the scores level at the break, Charlton's Lee Novak, Tony Watt and Johnnie Jackson all went close following the restart as the hosts upped in the tempo.

McCall's men had to dig deep at times but they did enough after the break to earn a point and extend their unbeaten run to six games.

Despite controlling proceedings for long spells in the opening half, City conceded first ten minutes before the break when Jorge Teixeira fired in after Patrick Bauer had headed Ricky Holmes' free-kick down into the mix.

Crucially though, the Bantams responded two minutes before the end of normal time in the first period through the recalled Timothee Dieng.

As City kept an attack alive from a Tony McMahon corner, Mark Marshall saw his shot from inside the box spilled by Charlton 'keeper Declan Rudd and Dieng stooped to head home from close range.

Although Charlton pushed City hard in the second period, the goal from the Frenchman ultimately proved enough to secure a share of the spoils for the Bantams.

FT: Charlton Athletic 1 Bradford City 1
90+4min: Marshall goes for goal from distance but his effort sails well wide.
90+1min: SUB - Charlton bring on Jake Forster-Caskey for Holmes.
90min: There will be three minutes of time added on at the end of the match.
90min: Dasilva's ball into the box following a swift Charlton counter-attack finds Konsa but he can only head forwards on the stretch and Meredith is able to head back to Doyle.
87min: YELLOW CARD - Vincelot is booked for bringing down Holmes as the Charlton winger looked to burst clear down their left flank.
86min: Novak sends a looping header goalwards from a Holmes corner but McMahon is on hand to smash clear a couple yards in front of his own goal-line.
84min: Jackson goes inches wide with a direct free-kick from outside the box, the curling effort actually clipping the top of the crossbar on its way behind.
83min: Vincelot climbs highest to connect with Marshall's hanging cross into the box. His header down into the mix finds Hiwula in a pocket of space but the ball bounces away from him and Charlton can clear.
80min: Holmes' inviting delivery into the middle from the resulting free-kick somehow doesn't receive a clean connection from a Charlton player in the middle. A scramble in the area ensues before McMahon is eventually to hack the ball clear.
80min: YELLOW CARD - Knight-Percival is booked for halting the progress of Watt on Charlton's right flank just outside the box.
75min: Holmes' inviting ball towards the far post from a free-kick into the box finds Teixeira but the header is straight at Doyle.
74min: SUB - The Bantams bring on Jordy Hiwula for Clarke.
73min: Clarke comes in-field from City's right flank to find shooting space but his low effort from just inside the box is easily held by Rudd down low to his left.
73min: Novak's cross finds Holmes in space inside the box but a watchful McArdle dives in front of the attacker's shot, taking the sting out of the effort and allowing Doyle to gather up.
71min: SUB - Charlton bring on Jay Dasilva and Ezri Konsa for Page and Crofts respectively.
71min: McMahon crosses into the middle, Wyke and Vincelot challenge for the ball but the delivery narrowly beats both of them in the air. McMahon's cross eventually ends up towards Meredith but he can't quite prevent the ball bouncing off him for a goal-kick.
70min: Charlton are temporarily down to ten men as Page receives treatment pitch-side for a hamstring injury.
69min: Marshall plays the ball across the box to Clarke but the striker's effort from just inside the area is skewed comfortably wide of goal.
63min: Fredrik Ulvestad turns away from the attentions of both McArdle and Vincelot before curling a low shot from just outside the box a yard or so wide.
62min: YELLOW CARD - McMahon is booked for deliberate handball as Lewis Page looked to clear up field from inside Charlton's half.
61min: An even better opportunity for Charlton! Novak's shot for goal from just inside the box deflects into the path of Watt right in front of goal but the striker slices horribly wide with a first time shot on the turn.
59min: Decent chance for Charlton! Holmes puts the ball inviting across the six yard box but a stretching Novak can only fire over from a good position in the the middle.
58min: Adam Chicksen gets in space down Charlton's right flank but his testing centre into the middle is cleared by a well-placed McArdle.
56min: YELLOW CARD - Meredith is booked for a late challenge on Teixeira as the left back looked to regain possession just outside Charlton's penalty area.
55min: Andrew Crofts latches onto a bouncing ball all of 30 yards or so from City's goal and connects with a looping half volley that sails not too far over Doyle's crossbar.
51min: Marshall takes aim from the corner of the penalty area but his low angled drive whistles a couple of yards wide of Rudd's far post.
48min: Bauer sees a header blocked in the box from a Holmes corner. Novak keeps the ball in play with a header of his own from the byline and City have to block again, with this time the ball going out for a corner.
46min: Charlton restart the match.
HT: Charlton Athletic 1 Bradford City 1
45+2min: A wonderful turn from Watt gets the Charlton striker away from McArdle as the hosts bring the ball forward in City territory. Now in the area, Watt cuts inside past a recovering Vincelot but his shot for goal is pushed away by Doyle before Cullen hooks clear.
45min: There will be two minutes of time added on at the end of the first period.
44min: There is a break in play briefly as Johnnie Jackson receives treatment. Play continues shortly afterwards, with Jackson resuming as well in the match.
43min: GOAL!!!!!!!!!!! Charlton Athletic 1 Bradford City 1- Timothee Dieng has the Bantams level! McMahon's corner delivery into the box isn't fully cleared by the home side and Cullen finds Marshall inside the box. Marshall works himself into a shooting space, his effort is spilled by Rudd and Dieng stoops to head the ball into the net!
35min: GOAL - Charlton Athletic 1 Bradford City 0 - The hosts have the lead through centre half Jorge Teixeira. Holmes' hanging ball into the box from a free-kick is headed down by Bauer and Teixeira prods home high into the net with a shot on the turn.
32min: Billy Clarke finds Josh Cullen in space inside the box but the midfielder's ball towards the far post is just out of the reach of Meredith and it bounces out for a goal kick.
32min: Rudd's free-kick from inside his own half is contested by Watt and McArdle around the edge of City's penalty area. The ball bounces out to Novak but his sliced shot towards goal from outside the box is easily held low to his right by Colin Doyle.
28min: McMahon's floated corner is headed back across the box by Rory McArdle but Nathaniel Knight-Percival in the middle can only send the ball over the bar with a header of his own.
21min: McMahon goes for goal with the resulting set-piece from distance. The effort is well-struck and goalbound but Rudd is right behind it and clings on.
20min: YELLOW CARD - Holmes is booked for dissent after a free-kick is awarded against Charlton in their own half.
16min: Holmes' searching ball into the box from a wide free-kick is brought down by Watt inside the box. The striker, who is under pressure from Meredith, looks to turn and shoot for goal but his eventual effort flashes across the box and out for a throw-in over by the far side.
14min: Mark Marshall fires the ball across the box, Rudd dives to try and clear the cross but Patrick Bauer is needed to kick away with Meredith looking to fire in from close range.
9min: Lee Novak fails to properly connect with Tony Watt's testing low centre to the edge of the six yard box. The danger for City is still there but James Meredith is able to clear just ahead of Ricky Holmes.
8min: Tony McMahon shoots from a distance outside the area and the hopeful effort sails into the stand behind Rudd's goal.
6min: James Meredith sends over a low inviting cross into the six yard box from City's left but Rudd is able to dive on the ball ahead of the lurking Charlie Wyke in the middle.
