RORY MCARDLE SIGNS FOR SCUNTHORPE

21 June 2017

Rory McArdle has this afternoon penned a three-year deal with fellow Sky Bet League One side, Scunthorpe United following the expiry of his contract here at the Northern Commercials Stadium.

The 30 year-old arrived at the club back in June 2012 following his departure from Scottish Premier League side, Aberdeen. The Sheffield-born Northern Ireland international defender went on to make 231 appearances for the Bantams and scored 15 goals along the way.

Part of the 'History Makers' team from the unforgettable 2012/13 campaign, he featured in three Wembley fixtures for Bradford City (Swansea City, Northampton Town and Millwall) which included a League Cup Final and two Play-Off Finals, and scored memorable goals against Aston Villa, Northampton Town and Fleetwood Town.

The likeable Yorkshireman very much played his part in helping a team that had just scraped League Two survival become an established and progressive team in League One.

Following the news of his departure, we would like to sincerely thank Rory for his efforts during a memorable five years here at Bradford City.
